referring to caitlyn jenner as anything but caitlyn jenner is transphobic. that is her name. use it. respect it.
questioning her attractiveness or saying “she’s prettier than me” even as an intended compliment as a cis girl is transphobic - it is not a compliment and it infers she is “less” of a woman or that you are “more” of one.
using pronouns other than she/her is transphobic. those are her pronouns. use them. respect them. it is never appropriate to put quotation marks around either a trans person’s chosen name or the pronoun that reflects that person’s gender identity.
regardless of your stance on the kardashians, this is not “attention seeking. nor is it money grabbing. caitlyn has been in hiding her whole life at a personal sacrifice to herself for the sake of her family. she is finally being who she is, and this happening in the eye of the media is a good thing. 1 in 12 trans women are murdered and 1 in 8 if they’re of color and you don’t see trans news as worthy of visibility? if anything it is MORE than worthy.
most importantly, whilst this attention is amazing and incredibly progressive, do not forget pre-transition or “non passing” trans women - they are women too. they are beautiful too.
